You may be wondering about the name of this blog. One day a friend called me a grasshopper. So I did a little study on them and discovered a great Bible verse in Isaiah 40:22 that says, “God is enthroned above the earth, and those who live on it are like grasshoppers…”

In my mind’s eye I saw all these little grasshoppers trying to get someone’s attention, to stand out among all the other grasshoppers. Then I thought about life being a performance. A parade of grasshoppers could probably get more attention than just one. So my blog, “Grasshoppers’ Parade” was born in May 2010.

When my previous blog server stopped serving blogs, I thought perhaps it was time for a slightly new name that would mark this changing of the guard and also to highlight my interests in science, science fiction, current events, pop culture, nostalgia and especially making a difference in the world.  Thus, the parade became a whole planet!

I’m excited about this new beginning. Welcome to Grasshopper Planet…
