The Earth’s a Big Blue Marble…

A fleet of orbiting satellites monitors Earth constantly. The satellites from NASA and other space agencies give us a fresh, wide perspective on things that we can see from the ground – and things that we can’t. You thought you could never listen to “Let it Go” again…  It started with the “not arrogant” “Good Looking Parents” and it has just (the opposite of) blossomed from there. Search You Tube — there are more covers of the cover and parodies of the parody than you can count. Here are the original and one of my favorites. What’s your favorite?  Feel free to comment because, “Love is an Open Door” after all.

Resurrection Sunday

This inspirative poem was written as a funeral sermon by James Weldon Johnson (1871-1938), known for composing the lyrics to “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing” (what some refer to “The Black National Anthem”) and also for being the first African American professor at NYU. It is herein presented as my Happy Easter greeting to all who celebrate.

Derek Jeter will be the player we tell OUR grandchildren about, not because he is a Yankee and can play ball with the best of them, but because he has been a class act from day one. This first day of #2’s final season of professional play marks the beginning of the end of an era… one which we can be grateful we experienced in our time.
